I have a pink swan sweater I bought from Urban Outfitters ages ago and it sort of became my trademark at school. When fabric shopping in Montreal, I came across this 100 per cent cotton print that I. Had. To. Have.
My default is skirts, so I made one. It was possibly the simplest thing ever – two rectangles of fabric sewn together with an elastic waist band. I added the little ruffle at the waist for some interest. I wore it today for the first day of school and loved it! It’s so light and fun. It may just become my favourite skirt. I may become the lady with a thousand of the same skirt in different fun patterns, because, why not? I’m a teacher and teachers get to wear borderline tacky things and totally rock them. Not that swans could ever be tacky.
